This presentation covers FSI simulation using explicit solution (SOL 700) which couples the structural solver from LS-Dyna and fluid Solver in MSC Dytran. The objective of fluid-structure interaction using the coupling algorithm is to enable the material modeled in fluid and Structural meshes to interact. The coupling algorithm computes the interaction between the two sets of elements enabling complex simulations such as Bird Strike, Sloshing, Blast and airbag analysis.

MD Nastran supports two methods of Fluid Structure Interactions:

• Open FSI by coupling with 3rd Party CFD solution
• Explicit Solution using SOL 700
